What is an MX-5?
The Mazda MX-5 is a classic rear-wheel drive sports car with the emphasis on FUN. Around the world it is also known as the Mazda Miata or Eunos Roadster, but they are much the same animal. The MX-5 relaunched worldwide interest in sports cars in the early 90s, opening the floodgates to the MGF, Z3, Barchetta and many others.

First previewed in June 1989 by 'Autocar & Motor', Howard Lees remarked that 'the MX-5 is almost everything the old Lotus Elan was: an agile, responsive, wind-in-the-face two-seater that brought sports car fun at an affordable price'.
